useless, but interesting information:

little known fact: discovered in 1867, the use of amyl nitrite was strictly medicinal, treating angina. it is widely thought that the first uses of the substance for pleasure was discovered somewhere between 1930's-1950's.  the name poppers is derived from the fact you had to "pop" the capsules to release the euphoric goodness.  in the late 1960s, nitro-glycerin replaced it as the most popular treatment of heart problems. it became the drug of choice for many. the fda made them available, only by prescription. cut to now. they are extremely easy to get and are very commonly used during sex for their euphoric properties. they were used in discos to create euphoric and relaxing environments in which hedonistic behaviors ensued, such as at the legendary studio 54
